The Experience You Can Expect

The Experience You Can Expect

Today, I wanted to go over the piercings I offer and a little explanation of what to expect with me, and information on each piercing I offer. I want the Neurodivergent clients to know exactly what they are walking into. I understand how scary this can feel, I want you to know, you will be safe with me, your voice matters, being pierced you release control to your piercer and I do not take that for granted!

When you book an appointment with me the most important thing to know is you are SAFE, SEEN and HEARD. You can expect a clean and professional environment where hygiene and safety are paramount. I will take the time to discuss your desired placement, jewellery options, and the aftercare (link to aftercare) process in detail. The piercing itself will be performed with precision and care, using mainly freehand and bevel theory methods, 90% single-use tools and of course, single-use blades and needles. I aim to make the experience as comfortable and stress-free as possible, providing clear guidance and support throughout the healing process. My goal is not just to create a piercing, but to provide a positive and empowering experience that allows you to express your individuality with confidence.

Ear Piercings:

  • Lobe: The classic and most common piercing, placed in the fleshy lower part of the earlobe. Expect a quick and relatively painless procedure, perfect for starting your piercing journey or adding to existing ear decorations.
  • Upper Lobe/Helix: Traditionally pierced along the outer cartilage rim of the upper ear. More commonly on the inner rim on the upper ear. Offers a stylish and versatile placement for studs or hoops (after 6 months), providing a more edgy look.
  • Forward Helix: Located on the small fold of cartilage at the front of your ear, above the tragus. A subtle yet distinctive piercing, often adorned with small, delicate jewellery.
  • Tragus: The small flap of cartilage that partially covers the ear canal. A unique and often comfortable cartilage piercing, suitable for smaller jewellery. (Airpods non-friendly)
  • Daith: Located in the inner cartilage fold, just above the ear canal. Some believe this piercing may have therapeutic benefits, in addition to its distinctive look. Often adorned with hoops.
  • Rook: Situated in the inner cartilage ridge above the daith. A more prominent and visually interesting cartilage piercing, typically suited for curved barbells.
  • Conch (Inner & Outer): The inner conch is the large, bowl-shaped cartilage in the centre of the ear; the outer conch is a piercing through the flat cartilage between the helix and anti-helix. Offers a statement piercing with various jewellery options, from studs to large hoops.
  • Industrial: Two piercings connected by a single straight barbell, typically across the upper ear cartilage. A bold and striking piercing that requires specific ear anatomy and a good twelve months to heal.

Facial Piercings:

  • Eyebrow: A piercing through the skin above the eyebrow, either vertical or angled. A prominent facial piercing that can enhance your features and style.
  • Nose (Nostril): A piercing through the side of the nostril. A popular and versatile piercing, often adorned with studs or hoops (after 4+ months).
  • Septum: A piercing through the ‘soft spot’ between cartilage that separates the nostrils. Can be subtle or bold depending on jewellery choice, often flipped up for concealment.
  • Bridge: A surface piercing across the bridge of the nose, between the eyes. A more advanced piercing that requires specific anatomy and careful aftercare.
  • Lip (Labret, Vertical Labret, Monroe, Medusa, etc.): Various piercings around the lip area. Offers a range of styles, from subtle accents to more prominent statements.
  • Oral Piercings (Tongue, Smiley): Piercings inside the mouth. These piercings offer unique aesthetics but require diligent oral hygiene.

Body Piercings:

  • Navel (Belly Button): A piercing through the skin above or below the navel. A popular body piercing, often adorned with curved barbells.
  • Nipple: A piercing through the nipple. A more intimate piercing that can be done on one or both sides.
  • Surface Piercings (Hip, Wrist, Nape, etc.): Piercings that run along the surface of the skin, entering and exiting in close proximity. Offer unique placement options but require specific jewellery and careful aftercare.
  • Dermal Anchors/Microdermals: Single-point piercings that sit flush with the skin's surface. Allow for unique and customizable placements anywhere on the body.
